Death Notice: At his residence in York county, Pa., on the morning of the 12th inst., George M. Hickman, formerly of Chester county. He had but a few days previous, been on a visit to the place of his birth, and on the 9th inst., left West Chester for his home in York county, where he arrived the evening of the following day, in his usual good health. On the morning of the 12th, he was up at 3 o'clock as a storm was approaching, and conversed with one of his daughters, who was also up attending to some of her duties. They both retired, and at the usual time for rising, the family were up, but not seeing him about, one of them called at his chamber, but received no answer. On approaching his bedside he was apparently sleeping, but in that slumber which awakens only in another world, the sleep of death.
